The mother of an 18-month-old who died in late February under suspicious circumstances has been arrested by Anderson police. Jennifer Harris has been booked into the Madison County Jail on a charge of felony neglect of a dependent causing death. Harris is expected to appear before a judge later today.

The Indiana Department of Transportation has awarded a 79-million-dollar contract to Walsh Construction and Rieth-Riley Construction to widen sections of I-69 between Pendleton and Anderson. INDOT’s construction contractors will add one lane to the interstate in each direction. The companies will also be fixing potholes on the highway between Anderson and Daleville.

Delaware County commissioners have introduced an amendment to zoning ordinances that would restrict where future livestock farms can be built. The proposals follow the Indiana Department of Environmental Managementâs approval of a farm with 10,000 hogs. The proposed changes for concentrated animal feeding operations include buffers between farms and people living nearby.
Drivers should be prepared for closures and slow-moving traffic.
